Domestic violence includes women murdering men. Women's lower lethality reflects in part their choice of weapons and doesn't clearly indicate that there is less abuse perpetrated by women. The rate of gun/knife wounds inflicted by women vs men is virtually the same. We suggest that looking at wounds inflicted by abusers and not fatality rates is a better measure of domestic violence.
Male targets of domestic violence are less likely than female targets to receive medical, legal, or social assistance.
Temporary Protective Orders are used as weapons of abuse. Whether or not TPO's actually do more harm than good isn't clear yet.
We welcome emails from men experiencing domestic violence - You did not and do not deserve the abuse you're experiencing.
There is hope men. Don't give up.
Hopefully the conversation about female perpetrated domestic violence can begin. If you have comments we would love to hear them.
